The effects of New Media in Business and the Economy
The use of technologies have made life both easy and simple in many respects. This statement proves true in regards to businesses and the economy. The business world has definitely experienced changes, from the way phones are answered, to the display of financial records. Almost everything is computerized in the corporate world, saving business owners and investors a great deal of time and money. The use of the internet has even made it easy for businesses to communicate and expand globally. These changes that New Media have made in the business world does not only affect business owners and investors, but also the economy. In any event where money flows in and out of household, firms and the government, the economy is affected. A simple event such as laying off employees to incorporate a new automated voice answering system increases the unemployment rate. The development of technology in respects to business and the economy has both pros and cons for the future, as employers seek New Media to save money and increase production proficiency, whereas employees of the future may have a standard mandatory demand to be technology savvy.

I definitely agree with your opinion that technology has made life both easy and simple in many respects. I enjoy being able to do almost anything from my phone. I can easily pay bills because I am able to download the application. I can go on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter to communicate with friends as well as make new friends. I think that because technology is and will continue to become more advanced, businesses should definitely turn their advertisements towards the web if they haven't already. Nowadays people have no time to do other things if it can not be done on their electronic devices. For instance, a business man/woman who is running late to work would definitely not have time to run to the deli to buy a newspaper. However, they can access articles on their phone and read it on the train. Something that I love about technology is that it opens more opportunities for me. When I go shopping at the actual store, they sometimes do not have what I want in my size or color but because most of the places I shop have their own sites, I can easily visit their website and order what I could not get in stores. I definitely agree with you that businesses use social media to communicate with their customers. Some sites allow their users to write their opinions and comments which I find really cool! This could lead to change which might benefit both sides!
